Another Clarification

It amazes me just how many people show my journal love but......
come on guys....you're starting to scare me. I love all my friends or anyone else who decides to probe the wonderful life of Courtney...at the same time, it's a little weird to me when people call me asking me about my shit on blogspot. I'd rather you leave a comment. N e ways, just to clarify,

1. NO!, Courtney is not in a relationship. The poem was just something that came to mind while I was in the shower. It's not to anyone in particular....unfortunately. I wish there was a special someone but I'm still searching :-( Mister had to go...he irked my nerves to say the least (nice guy but not for me). I am talking to someone but it's in that feelin-it-out-stage. Especially since my books are so far up my ass that I'm pinned to the couch....I'm workin on that 4.0 and so far, so good. I've gotten A's on every single assignment because I have given up my social life...and that includes my fine, sexy brothers. COURTNEY IS ON HER GRIND...ALWAYS AND WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS...Actions speak for themselves, and I'm definitely on the come up....I'm takin as many people as I can, so get on the bus or miss out. It does not matter who you are....as long as you got that hustle in you (and some common sense). I'm not trying to toot my own horn but people, I do know a little something about some shit....trust the words I give to you.

2. Yes, I am really leaving all my lovelies and movin to Vegas for the summer. I will be back in Bmore from March 13th-16th for half of my spring break. The first half I'll be in the ATL. So get at me when I get into town because I probably will not be back in Bmore until Thanksgiving (maybe my nieces birthday in May).

3. I like the fact that everyone reads this, but I would appreciate it if everyone used my blog as a forum to discuss real issues and not Courtney's personal life. Even when I did discuss my personal life, it was primarily to discuss a life issue...or to practice writing. Instead of calling asking whether or not I have a new boyfriend, ask me how you can get involved with your community, leave a comment about an issue that I bring up (i.e. politics, Darfur, etc), ask me about job opportunities if you are in my field, tell me about job opportunities, discuss the field, make suggestions and critiques about my writing, etc..... that is the only reason to make comments about my blogspot....and that is the only reason for my blogspot.

Middle school is over....it's time to Graduate!

- The Field: beeeeooottcchhh, u are so boo-gee about ya career. lol. we advertisers need luv too. but i feel u, you get to do all that analytic shit where i'm more on the creative end. better you than me. lol.

so i hope this satisfies my ingenious HGFL!

Yeah, I banged a girl at the club while I was out with my cousin, but some chics who knew me from school were there and they pulled me back from continuing to beat the bitch....

And no, I'm not arrogant...I'm CONVINCED! lol. My self-righteousness can be validated!

And girl shut-up! I'm not boo-gee (sp?) about my career. I just know my shit...I hate that when I tell people that I am in Marketing they always say "oh, so you want to do commercials". Hell-to-the-NO! I like the backside of marketing, the meat, I like the strategy. I just think people have misconceptions about what marketing really is.

I will miss you too over the summer as always! Come see me. We will have sooooo much fun.

A Note to My Readers

Chello Readers,

It has been awhile since I have visited and wrote in my blog. I hope that I continue to have fans as I recently removed my blog from search engines.

I have been making a lot of changes over the past couple of months and I feel absolutely fabulous! The main reason for my hiatus is due to the fact that 1) I lack the time, and 2) I have become so much more self-contained and private.

We are a generation that has grown up in the Information Age. Almost EVERYTHING about our lives is so accessible...even to people who live in other countries, thousand of miles away from us. Remember the days before cell phones and the internet? Nowadays, even land lines are like dinosaurs.

Honestly, I have become tired of being so accessible. There are so many people who "care" about your life but only from a distance--from the comfort of an impersonal text message or from their computer. Because everyone's lives are so much more accessible, we have become the age of DRAMA and DETACHMENT. It is like watching a circus--a freak show of people who either crave attention, have no life of their own, or have a need to compete on having a much more fabulous life than someone else.

In lieu of all this, I have decided to completely take my blog into a different direction.

I think it is safe to say that I have lived a pretty colorful life thus far. My life is colored with EXPERIENCE. I have had the luxury of being exposed to the best and worst that life has to offer. The theme of my life is "extremes". When things have been good they have been fuckin awesome and when things have been bad, they have been incredibly dark.

Either way, my life has been pretty heavy...and lately, I have gained a better appreciation toward things that are more lighthearted.

With that said, more than likely, my blog will probably reflect this.

It has been brought to my attention that most people tend to look at things as black and white--it is either my way or the highway, it is either right or wrong, it is either taboo or normal, it is either in or out, it is either real or phony, it is either stupid or smart, it is either beautiful or ugly, it is either a lie or the truth...but, the reality of every situation is that it is all colored in shades of gray. After all, people and life are so complicated even the most simplest of us.
